Datacenter Systems Engineer - Emphasis on Hardware, Network and Linux

  • Work Location: Phoenix, AZ

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Datacenter Systems Engineer based in Phoenix, AZ with 4+ years hardware, network, and Linux OS experience. The candidate will need to be able to work both remotely and travel to local onsite locations as needed. Domestic travel may also be required on rare occasions. 

The Day to Day:

  • Prototype and production computer board assembly
  • Install, configure, service, repair, and maintain information technology systems in both a stand-alone and client-server environment
  • Integrate multiple information systems in a networked environment, evaluate and resolve customer information system problems, effect required hardware upgrades and repair to maintain mission capability
  • Working with network technology such as VPNs, firewalls, routing/switching, wireless devices
  • Adhere to and overcome challenges by troubleshooting and forward thinking
  • Develop technical documentation, procedures, and provide issue tracking


  • Strong ability in troubleshooting and replacing failed server components
  • Strong understanding of Linux OS
  • Knowledge of high level networking concepts and implementation
  • Strong understanding of remote troubleshooting
  • Basic knowledge of configuration management (Salt, Ansible, etc)
  • Basic understanding of Bash, PHP, and Python
  • Basic understanding of Mac OS
  • Ability to pass background check and security clearance qualifications
  • Ability to lift 30 (thirty) pounds and physically move server and network hardware
  • US Citizenship or Legal Authorization to Work in the US

Bonus Points:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
  • Self-starter – minimal supervision required
  • High energy level with a pleasant and positive attitude
  • Evidence of working well within a diverse team
  • Previous Military Service a plus but not required
